Housekeeping

Happy New Year to all.  And good riddance to 2008.

Personally the year was not bad at all, but I am still happy to see it go.  On the bright side, Heather and I moved to Beaufort when she accepted a great new position at an amazing church.  I was able to keep my job with LN and work from home so I didn’t have to find a job in a fragmenting economy.  My family is in good health and hanging in there.

My training for the triathlon is going well after a detour for the holidays.  I ran about 6K today and did about 1300M in the pool.  Heading out for a nice ride with some friends tomorrow and another swim on Sunday.  My plan is to swim 4 days a week, run three and bike three.  The swimming thing is really growing on me: it’s great exercise, easy to get motivated, and I can do it in the morning and still ride or run in the afternoon.  Also good news: one of my best friends has decided to start training for the triathlon too.

On the downside, a few good friends at work were laid off and there is a serious possibility that others could follow.  Our business took a serious hit this year as people tightened their belts and cut back on unessential spending.  Heather and I left behind some great friends in DC.

I think my most significant resolution is to start posting here regularly.  I know some of the content will be of little interest to anyone but me, but please bear with me.

Good Luck in the New Year!
