I should have posted this a few days ago, but I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with work and life. The Beaufort Tribune, an online news site for Northern Beaufort County has launched and is starting to fill with content.
There are a few stories now and more expected soon. I’ve had an opportunity to meet with the George Trask, the editor and publisher of the Tribune and he appears to genuinely ‘get’ the direction of news. The paper is free, only available online, and advertising supported.
With the recent withdrawl of The Beaufort Gazette as the local newspaper of record, which I mentioned in the post about the power of Twitter, there is a clear need for a reliable news source for northern Beaufort County.
