When I got up this morning, I noticed quite a few new emails marked read in my Gmail. I’m pretty anal about changing passwords and using non-dictionary words to prevent hacking, but I pretty much freaked out.
I checked my Gmail logs and noticed IMAP access at 1am and again at 7am. So I changed my password, started checking other Gmail accounts for breeches, checking for deleted or forwarded emails, checked my settings tabs to make sure no one has forwarded my emails offsite, etc.
I found no other evidence of a breech. Thanks to TechCrunch and LifeHacker for the articles about the bug, not a breech.

Oh, wow! I just checked my gmail to make sure I didn’t miss anything since I rely pretty heavily on it for coordinating schedules for group projects and whatnot. Thankfully, I seem to be unaffected, but it was certainly worth checking!
I checked my Gmail while reading this post. Fortunately I haven’t been infected or something. But just being aware of this bug. Thanks for the post!
This really scared me a bit, since I too rely heavily on gmail for business. Fortunately I am not affected, but if I do get affected I know where to go. Thanks for all the help.
I have once been sent someone else´s mail in another email client. Gmail has not failed me yet but it is frightening to know these things still happen.
