Review of IntoCircuit Power Mini 3000 mAh External Battery

10 November 2014 By Eric H. Doss Leave a Comment

Review of IntoCircuit Power Mini 3000 mAh External BatteryHey folks, About a week ago, I received a free sample of the IntoCircuit Power Mini External Battery from the manufacturer and have been using it every day since. I'm impressed with this little gadget. The construction is good, feels well made, though the power button is a bit cheap feeling. The battery charges quickly from the outlet and charges your phone very quickly. Check out the video below if you'd like to see and hear the entire review:

Thoughts on the ZeroLemon Galaxy S3 Extended Battery

1 August 2013 By Eric H. Doss 6 Comments

Thoughts on the ZeroLemon Galaxy S3 Extended BatteryAs much as I hate to admit it, I'm almost completely lost without my phone. I did get around Italy for two weeks without the phone and maybe even liked it a bit, but once I got back to the states, my phone dependency returned. One of the drawbacks to using any smartphone is the lack of battery power. OEM manufacturers won't design a huge battery because it detracts from the aesthetics of the phone. Enter the ZeroLemon 7000mAh extended battery for the Galaxy S3. This is a HUGE battery for the S3; it more than doubles the thickness of the phone. The battery comes with a replacement back made of TPU cover. I've been using the ZeroLemon 7000mAh extended battery for about three months and this is an essential part of my toolkit now. Even when the OEM battery was new and strong in my S3, if I had a day of heavy use, or I was in a 4G city, or I was in the country where the phone constantly searched for service, I could easily run out of juice before the afternoon. It's not that recharging my phone every night is such a pain, but having to worry about running out of juice is a pain. A few tips and observations from my months with this battery. First, if you are active outside and use your phone in an armband, this isn't going to work. You'll need to keep your smaller battery and back case handy, because I'm yet to find an armband that can hold this monster. But, if you know of one, feel free to add the link in the comments. Next, the case is surprisingly protective of the phone. I've probably dropped it from 5 feet a few times since I installed this battery and the case cushions the strike and seems to really protect the phone from damage. The lip around the front of the screen also prevents scratches if you place the phone face down.  Related Note: Though I don't have personal experience, you should avoid the white cover for this battery. I read a number of reviews that suggested it was easily soiled and terribly hard to clean. Finally, a note on size. This seriously increases the size of your phone. Like, doubles it, maybe more. So, if you're looking for a slimline phone, this isn't your battery. You can pick up ZeroLemon's Slimline Batteries for the S3, but stay away from this huge battery. I will say, the phone is no larger than with an Otterbox Defender for Samsung S3, but that might be too much for a lot of people. If you're in the market for a longlife battery, you'll be hard pressed to find a better one than this, even at a new higher price. Recently, ZeroLemon has partnered with someone to sell their products on Amazon and this has caused a pretty significant price increase, from about $34 to $44, roughly. I bought my battery at the lower price and think it's a great value. After 3 months, the battery life is still unbelievably strong, the case fits well and has protected my phone from numerous drops. I would highly recommend picking this battery up if you're in the market for an extended battery for your S3.
