Eric H. Doss is built on WordPress, an open source publishing tool. The number one tool I recommend is ManageWP.  I simply cannot imagine managing this site and all the others I operate without this tool.  If you have more than one WordPress site, you cannot afford to not use this service.  Period. My domain is registered with 1and1.  Domain registration is basically a commodity, so I choose 1and1 because they offer competitive prices and pretty solid customer service.  Certainly better than GoDaddy. I host my sites with Rochen and with BlueHost.  Rochen provides a very powerful hosting environment that gives me peace of mind with my client sites.  BlueHost is a very inexpensive hosting solution with very good support. I use the Genesis Framework with the Focus child theme from StudioPress.  I have previously used Thesis as my site framework and was very happy, but am really enjoying Genesis. I extend WordPress with a number of free and paid plugins, including a number from WPMU.  I also am in the process of implementing Premise on this site and others.  WPMU can be daunting when you get started, if only because they have so many plugins and themes.  But, their stuff just works, out of the box. I also use a DIY standing desk that I created with parts from IKEA.  You can check out a few photos over on Google+.
